- The light meter in a camera works out how much light or exposure to let on to your film. As daylight is always changing in strength your camera compensates by choosing the right combination of shutter speed and aperture.
- exposure modes
- Many cameras use two common automatic modes to give you more time to enjoy taking pictures. Use aperture-priority mode to have the camera set an automatic shutter speed to complement your choice of aperture. Use shutter-speed priority to have the camera set the right aperture to fit your choice of shutter speed. If you want more precise control use manual settings.
